We have been learning about 2D shapes in RO. We have discovered that we can name quite a few, but that there are still some we’re not sure of.

We’ve also started to look at their properties. For example, we’ve been noticing how many corners and sides they have.

It would be lovely if the boys could spot some shapes at home!

Just before the half-term break, Mrs Mehta came in to the classroom to tell us all about the Hindu festival of Divali. Wearing a beautiful sari, Mrs Mehta told us the story of Rama and Sita and she explained the significance of light at this special time of year. The boys all listened with interest and then took a closer look at the atefacts that Mrs Mehta brought in to show them. This was a valuable introduction to a discussion about family celebrations and highlighted their importance for us all.
