This week has been our last full week in reception. It is incredible to think how quickly this academic year has gone by!

The boys have particularly enjoyed the sunny weather this week:

The boys have been using Purple Mash in the Computing Suite a few times this week. They have impressed all members of staff who have taken their computing lessons.

In Maths this week we have looked at repeated addition. We also explored the multiplication sign and converted repeated addition into multiplication.

It has been great to hear about everyone’s hobbies and favourite pastimes. Next week the star boys are as follows:

Monday: Ryan and Sachin

As we get closer to the summer holidays, here is something you might like to consider:

All libraries in Hertfordshire are running a Roald Dahl reading challenge over the summer. This is a great opportunity to introduce the boys to these wonderful books.

Reception Oak

Yesterday the boys has a brilliant maths workshop. The boys consolidated mathematical concepts through dance and song. They used huge Numicon pieces and learnt about finding the difference between numbers.

 

This week in Maths we learnt about repeated addition and how this is written as a multiplication number sentence.

In literacy and PSED we learnt about year one and the exciting journey that is ahead. The boys wrote about what they have enjoyed in Reception and what they are looking forward to in year one.

The boys have continued to work on their final assembly performance and we can’t wait to share this with you all on their last day- Wednesday 13th.
