We have had a very festive week in Reception. At the beginning of the week the boys watched the story ‘The Snowman’. We watched carefully and noticed the directions the snowman was flying in. The boys then wrote a recount of where the snowman flew and used positional language words such as ‘above’ the tree and ‘between’ the rocks.
The boys have been busy making Christmas cards and decorations. For Advent, they have enjoyed opening the baubles on our class Advent calendar. Each day a new face is revealed and the boy from the previous day offers a chocolate coin to the next boy:
This week in maths we have been looking at ‘one more’ and ‘one less’. For the maths activity this week, could you please pick some of your number cards at random to 20. Then, please say and write what is one more or one less than each number. Please comment on this blog post to let us know how you got on. Have fun!
