Have a lovely summer!

What a year it’s been! We congratulate RY for a fantastic year. The boys have come so far and achieved so much this year.

During welly time this week the boys enjoyed pond dipping, they saw many creepy crawlies!

On their last day the boys enjoyed playing games such as, bear and honey game, musical statues, musical bumps and musical chairs. They later enjoyed participating in a range of arts and crafts activities.

We would like to thank you for all your support and for your thoughtful words and generous gifts you have given us, it is certainly overwhelming! We wish all of you health and happiness for the summer holidays. We look forward to seeing you all when you start year 1.

Have a wonderful summer!

Fantastic artwork!

On Wednesday, the boys were happy to spend time completing Year 1 activities during their induction visit. The boys explained the activities they enjoy doing and what they like to learn at school. The boys are excited to meet their new teachers in September!

In maths this week, we revisited 2D shapes, RY class enjoyed identifying different 2D shapes and describing their properties using mathematical vocabulary. Later in the week, the boys explored 3D shapes, recognising, and naming them such as, cube, cuboid, cylinder, pyramid, and sphere. They later made 3D shape nets and enjoyed sorting 2D and 3D shapes. The boys also worked together to make a house using different shapes.
For the maths homework this week, please use this game to make shape pictures.

Here are songs we have listened to in class that the boys love…

During music the boys learnt about the composer Elton John, they enjoyed listening to his songs:

During welly time this week, RY class enjoyed playing with bats and balls, trying to catch and throw. They also enjoyed playing running and chasing games.

The boys followed the author and illustrator Rod Biddulph, to create their own furry beancat from the story, ‘The Nine Lives of Furry Purry Beancat’. We were incredibly proud of their artwork and are showcased on our window. Should the boys wish to create more illustrations from stories please look up ‘Rod Biddulph’ on YouTube.

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend.

Sports day!

On Tuesday, the boys performed brilliantly in their play ‘Shark in the park’. They should be very proud of their fantastic performance! They sang, acted, and spoke confidently.

During Literacy, RY class spoke about what we enjoyed during our trip to Cuffley camp. After our discussion, we used our phonic knowledge to write sentences. The boys wrote great sentences!

In Maths we have been focusing on place value. For the homework this week, have a go at playing this game to help you know the value of each number.

We have now reached the end of our Show and Tell. Thank you all for all your lovely songs.
