The end of the first half term!

A huge well done to RY Class for a brilliant first half term. The boys have all made new friends and they have worked very hard with their school work. They have made progress in many areas and it has been wonderful to see their development so far.

The boys enjoyed dressing up in their Halloween costumes:

Well done to Aleksei and Edward for winning the Pumpkin Competition.

Reception learnt about Diwali this week. Parents from RG talked about the Festival of Lights. The boys liked colouring their Rangoli patterns, dressing up in traditional clothes and making their diva lamps.

In Maths, the boys have been comparing numbers and finding more and fewer using counters, cubes and a five frame.

For the Maths challenge please can you:

Make three groups of counters/objects (up to five). Can you see how many there are without counting? Can you count them? Now cover the counters with three cups and move them around to mix up the order. Guess the number of counters under each cup. Lift up the cup and check if you was correct.

Now you could try with 10 counters/objects.

The theme for Show and Tell after half term is ‘Houses and Homes’. Please bring in a picture of your favourite space in your home. The ‘Show and Tell’ boys after half term are:

Monday: Half Term

Tuesday: William (Bring in your favourite toy)

Wednesday: Xander (Bring in your favourite toy)

Thursday: Aleksei (a picture of your favourite space in your home)

Friday: Aryan (a picture of your favourite space in your home)

Weekly challenge after half term: Put your coat on independently. The boys can work on this over the half term.

Have a lovely half term break!
