Our Weather Topic

This half term the boys in RO have been learning about the weather and we have been absolutely delighted by the wonderful work they have generated for our classroom displays.

We have been recording and forecasting the weather every day and have also designed our own symbols.

We made a graph to show our favourite weather, have made “bubble prints” and kites to fly in the wind and we wrote a Class Book about what happened when “The Wind Blew”.

We have painted rainbows, learned about primary colours and have experimented with mixing them together.

We used collage techniques to make fluffy clouds and even sewed the rain!

The boys worked on 3D snowy landscapes independently and have enjoyed role play in our Igloo Weather Station.

Most recently we have made some fabulous sunglasses and have given some serious thought to dressing appropriately for the weather conditions.

Phew! We have been busy! And we haven’t even mentioned all the other exciting things we do at school.

Have a wonderful Half Term holiday everyone! Next term our topic will be Transport and Travel.001002003

Over Christmas and the New Year, the boys in RO have made great strides. Their confidence is growing as their skills develop and we have been so delighted to celebrate some of the work they have been doing at home.

Here you can see that one young man was brave enough to speak clearly to the whole Year Group about Chinese New Year!

Another has made a fascinating weather chart, inspired by our current topic and you can also see a beautifully detailed castle made from recycled materials.

Finally, a delightful original story about “The Cheese that ate a Mouse”.
