Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

What a fantastic first term at School the boys have had, it has whizzed by! Lots of friendships and fantastic progress have been made. We are very proud of the boys. They all deserve a well earned happy Christmas.

To end our term, the boys enjoyed a Christmas themed day. The boys enjoyed their Christmas lunch and their Christmas party.

The theme for next half term is Weather and Superheroes.

For Show and Tell, please bring in a picture of your family at Christmas or during the Christmas holidays. The Show and tell boys are as follows:

Monday- Wednesday: Christmas holidays

Thursday: Aleksei

Friday: Aryan

Thank you ever so much for your kind words and generous gifts. We truly appreciate it!

We will look forward to seeing you all after the Christmas break. Have a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

Camp Fire

These are the boys who were behind the Christmas baubles this week…

A few boys posted their Christmas cards.

The boys did a great job with their Christmas production. We are very proud of them!

During Literacy, the boys watched ‘The Snowman’ by Raymond Briggs. They then wrote sentences about the Snowman’s journey using positional language to describe how he travelled in the sky. During child- initiated play, the boys enjoyed making their own stick puppets from the story.

In Maths, we have been using positional language to describe where an object is located. The Math activity is:

Play hide and seek with toys and shapes. Can you instruct an adult or sibling using positional language to find your hidden toys and shapes? For example, the car is under the chair.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Advent

This week the boys have been excited to open each bauble of December on the class Advent calendar and they have been learning ordinal numbers through doing this. The boy from the previous day reveals the face hiding behind the next bauble and offers that boy a chocolate coin!

During Phonics, the boys learnt the sound ‘y’ and ‘x’ this week. We were busy writing words and sentences with both these sounds.

In Maths, the boys have been exploring 2D shapes. We named and identified the properties of a square, triangle, rectangle and triangle. The boys later made a large triangle and square using 2D shapes.

For the Maths activity this week can you go on a shape hunt. What shapes can you find? How many sides does the shape have? How many corners? Do you know the name of the shape?

During Welly Time, the boys enjoyed digging and finding many fossils and treasure.

We have reached the end of Show and Tell. We will resume after the Christmas break.

The weekly challenge is: Use ‘please’ and ‘thank you’.

Have a wonderful weekend!
