A New Half Term

Well, here we are, back at school again and the half term break is already a distant memory! The boys have all been working very hard indeed on their Holiday News this week and most of them have been attempting their own spellings too. Some boys have already started on their “Tricky Words” and we’re looking forward to seeing some lovely work next week.

We have started to talk about our new Topic on Transport and you will find a tick sheet in your son’s bag on which he can record some of the things he sees on his journey to school. We will be using these for our writing lesson on Monday 9th March, so please return them as soon as you can.

Finally, I’d like to thank you all so much for the wonderful Garden Plans you worked on over the break. They really were fabulous and much appreciated by Mrs Saggar and Mrs Shah.

Here are some photos of the boys who went out to help today.

Happy Half-Term!

Our busy half term has come to an end and we are all ready for a little break before we begin our next topic on Transport. But, before we go, here are a few reminders of the work we’ve been doing over the past fortnight. Below you will see our visit to the Science Lab to witness the formation of a rainbow- very exciting!Half term pics 040Half term pics 012

We have also been working very hard on addition and even made some sums you can eat! (See above). Finding the numbers that go together to make all the numbers up to ten is an important skill, so please try working on this over half term. Counting in twos is something else we’ve been doing this week.

Finally, I’ve been absolutely thrilled by the amazing independent writing the boys have been doing lately. Here are just a few examples.Half term pics 047

Please help them to think about the plants we could grow and the birds and insects that could visit. It’s fine to scribe for them, as it might be tricky to fit everything in. We’re looking forward to finding out about your ideas!

Have a great break!
