Please can you write your own subtraction number sentences and count back to find the answers?

For example:

6-4= count 4 less than 6 to find the answer.

You can also use objects to support the understanding.

Cuffley Camp!

The boys had a wonderful time at Cuffley camp. They were excited and ready to go on their adventure!

When we reached Cuffley camp, we met our camp leader and we walked to the forest school. We had some play time to explore the different activities around. There were swings, mud kitchen, huge dens and gardens, to name a few!

We used paint to camouflage ourselves and played fun forest games that involve hiding and not being seen by a predator. The boys loved playing these games and hid behind many trees!

We later took a stroll through the woods where we learned about forest bathing. The boys were encouraged to use their senses to enjoy their environment and feel calm and happy.

The boys had a fantastic day, exploring nature!

Green Meadows

In Literacy, the boys were learning about list writing. They wrote lists about different types of transport they have travelled in. They also wrote sentences about their favourite types of transport.

During Maths, we used a ‘counting on’ strategy for addition. We played a game using a ten frame, cubes and a die to reinforce counting on from any given number to find the total. The boys later solved addition problems.

For the Math challenge this week, can you write your own Math sentences and count on to find the answers?

In PSED, the boys enjoyed naming parts of the body. We discussed the function of each body part and why they are important.

The boys enjoyed exploring Green Meadows during Welly Time.

Lovely parents from RY Class talked to the boys about France. The boys enjoyed learning key phrases in French.

The theme for Show and Tell is Songs. Please bring in a song to sing to the class. The Show and Tell boys next week are:
