Caterpillars!

During Understanding the World, the boys learnt about the life cycle of a butterfly. The boys were able to identify the different parts of the life cycle and enjoyed ordering the life cycle pictures. The boys absolutely loved observing the caterpillars.

During Literacy we listened to the story, ‘Jasper’s Beanstalk’. The boys retold the story and their fantastic work is up on display in the classroom.

In Maths, the boys were busy measuring different objects around the classroom using a ruler. They drew the objects and wrote their measurements in centimeters.

For the Maths homework this week:

Find 3 toys, can you find the longest? Shortest? How do you know?

Now use a ruler or non- standard units (cubes) to measure items around your house. You can draw the object and write the measurement next to it.

The theme for Show and Tell is ‘Growing’. Please bring in a picture of you as a baby. The Show and Tell boys for next week are as follows:

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend!

Welcome Back!

A warm welcome back, we hope you all had a relaxing Easter holiday.

The boys have had a happy first two days back at school. We listened to each other when talking about our Easter holidays.

We have started our new topic of ‘Growing’. The boys have been enjoying using the new Garden Centre role-play area:

In Phonics, we recapped the digraphs ‘ur’ and ‘oa’. You can challenge yourself by writing words or sentences with the digraphs ‘ur’ and ‘oa’. Remember to include a capital letter, finger spaces and a full stop.

The boys enjoyed playing outside during Welly Time. They found a wriggly worm and named him ‘Tickly’.

The boys enjoyed reading and rhyming games.

The theme for Show and Tell is ‘Growing’. Please bring in a picture of you as a baby. The Show and Tell boys for next week are as follows:

Monday: Edward

Tuesday: Finn

Wednesday: Gabriel

Thursday: George

Friday: Isaac

Have a lovely weekend!
