We wish you a Merry Christmas!

What a fantastic first term at School the boys have had, it has whizzed by! Lots of friendships and progress have been made. The boys deserve a well earned happy Christmas.

To end our term, Pre Prep enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch:

To celebrate a great first term, after their Christmas lunch the boys had a Christmas party involving ‘Pin the nose on Rudolph’, Christmas crafts and dancing!

A festive week

This week the boys have been excited to open each bauble of December on the class Advent calendar and they have been learning ordinal numbers through doing this. The boy from the previous day reveals the face hiding behind the next bauble and offers that boy a chocolate coin!

The boys also started their week with a fun Monday where they wore their Mufti day clothes and they watched the Christmas pantomime ‘Aladdin’:

On Tuesday the boys had a lovely afternoon making beautiful baubles to be purchased at the Christmas fair, this was kindly led by the PTA:

During Literacy the boys listened to the ‘The Snowman’ by Raymond Briggs. They then wrote about the Snowman’s journey using positional language to describe how he travelled in the sky. A selection of Snowman art work and writing is displayed upstairs in the Pre Prep library.

During Maths the boys have continued to learn about ‘more’ and ‘less’. They have also been learning about 2D shapes. The Maths homework this week is as follows:

Go on a shape hunt around your home or out and about. Please see if you can find the following shapes in real life and comment on the blog post if you find them and what they were:

Circle

Square

Rectangle

Triangle

Pentagon

Hexagon

Octagon

When you have found the shapes, count the corners and edges.

Good luck shape hunting!

During Expressive Arts and Design the boys have continued to make different Christmas crafts.

There will be no Starboys or a weekly challenge next week.

Enjoy the Christmas fair!
