Happy Easter!

In Maths, we explored the use of mathematical language to describe the quantity in a container. We discussed terms like ‘empty,’ ‘full,’ and ‘half full’.

We enjoyed doing some Arts and Crafts.

The boys enjoyed exploring the forest and making Easter bunny nests during Welly Time.

After Easter our topic will be ‘growing’. For Show and Tell, please bring in a picture of you as a baby.

Monday- Wednesday: Easter Holidays

Thursday: Theo and Umar (Please bring in a drawing or craft you made at home)

Friday: Advik (Please bring in a picture of you as a baby)

Thank you very much for our wonderful gifts. We hope you have a well deserved restful and happy Easter. See you in the Summer term!

Measuring

The boys have been learning how to measure. We talked about standard and non-standard units of measurement, and we measured lots of things around the classroom.

For the Maths challenge this week, continue with measuring at home, talking about the different things we use to measure length and weight.

We had a science workshop on Wednesday. We learned about sound, electricity , evaporation and wind. We mixed together sugar, citric acid and baking powder to make sherbert!

During Literacy, we talked and wrote captions about the Easter story.

The Show and Tell boys are as follows next week:

Monday: Rian

Tuesday: Sachin

Wednesday: Sqongweni

Thursday: Sterlin (School ends at 12pm)

Have a great weekend!

RAF Museum

During Maths this week we have looked at making patterns with shapes.

Please draw your own 3 part repeated shape pattern.

E.g. triangle, square, circle, triangle, square, circle

or red triangle, blue triangle, square, red triangle, blue triangle, square

The boys thoroughly enjoyed their trip to the RAF Museum. They were on a mission to find Teddy Bear’s medal. As they walked around the museum, the boys discovered Percy the penguin near the Salamander fire engine, Suzie the dog (who serves as a mascot for the biplanes), and Eddie the Teddy at the flying boat. Eddie was wearing a life jacket, ensuring that if he fell off the flying boat, he could float in the sea. Next, they encountered Twinkle Toes the cat by the red helicopter. This red helicopter held special significance because the late Queen’s mother used to love flying in it. Finally, they approached the tractor and were amazed to learn that it was strong enough to pull a plane! The boys found a special box containing Teddy’s medal and practiced a salute. They also spent some time in the adventure playground.

For Show and Tell, could you share an arts and crafts piece or drawing you have made at home? The Show and Tell boys are as follows:

Monday: Hiro

Tuesday: Jayden

Wednesday: Julius

Thursday: Leonardo

Friday: Louis

The weekly challenge is: Sit smartly on your chair and tuck it under the table.

Have a great weekend!
