We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We have come to the end of a wonderful first term in Reception. Where has the time gone? The boys are making tremendous progress and they definitely deserve a well earned rest with family and friends.

This week we have enjoyed many Christmas activities including Mufti day where many Christmas jumpers were featured!

After Christmas our new theme for Show and Tell will be ‘Our Holidays’. Could you please bring in a photograph of your family on Christmas day. Alternatively, please bring in a photograph of something else you did over the Christmas holidays.

The Starboys will be as follows:

Thursday: Alex Lee

Friday: Alex Sembi

You will have received some ‘Christmas Challenges’ in your book bags, directing you to the maths questions below. To reply to these questions, please comment by clicking the ‘heart’ on the left hand side of this blog post.

How many different ways can you make 10 and then 20 by counting on and using your fingers?

Using toys in your house can you line them up and find one more and one less than the amount you lined up?

Can you find these shapes in your house… square, triangle, circle, rectangle, pentagon, hexagon and octagon?

Merry Christmas!

  1. 5+5 = 10
    8+2 = 10
    6+4=10
    9+1=10
    7+3=10

    10+10=20
    15+5=20
    16+4=20
    12+8=20
    19+1=20

    Circle = dinner plate
    Rectangle = dining table
    Square = floor tile
    Triangle = house roof

    Louis had 12 toys, added one more = 13, removed one = 11
