Tasting Experience

This week during ‘Understanding the World’, the boys have been exploring their sense of taste. They enjoyed learning all about their taste buds! We had a popcorn tasting experiment to test our sense of taste. The boys tasted and guessed whether the popcorn was sweet or salt flavoured. They then learnt how to circle their choice using a chart. We had a vote of which flavour was our favourite and most boys preferred sweet flavoured popcorn!

During Literacy, the boys enjoyed listening to the story, ‘Pumpkin Soup’ by Helen Cooper. They wrote about the vegetables they would like in their soup and enjoyed activities based on the story involving cutting and sticking.

RY Class enjoyed listening to a biblical story during assembly from a company called, Pathway.

This week in Maths, we have been using a five frame to count forwards and backwards. In our journals, we matched numbers to the correct amount and filled in the missing numbers.

Please try one of these Math activities:

Using your number cards, can you match the correct amount of Lego bricks, cars (toys of your choice)?

If you would like an extra challenge, please write your name in cursive on a piece of paper and bring it into school.

For Show and Tell please bring in your favourite toy or a picture of your favourite toy. The Show and Tell boys are as follows:

Monday: Noah

Tuesday: Sebastian

Wednesday: Teddy

Thursday: Vinal

Friday: Half Term

The weekly challenge for next week is: Line up smartly and quietly with your hands by your side.

Have a lovely weekend.

  1. Jett-Louis has enjoyed playing the counting games. He said the bear is eating too many cupcakes.
Has written his full name in cursive script and will have it in his bag to show you.
Jett-Louis has been using number cards and arranging them next to cars to count them. We have been taking cars away to count how many remain.
